Curcumin is a natural pigment and the primary bioactive component of turmeric. Turmeric is a commonly used spice and herb, often employed in cooking and traditional medicine. Curcumin is the yellow pigment found in the roots of turmeric, giving many foods and cosmetics their yellow color.
